CIWW Paddlefest 2025! Lets go!

CIWW Paddlefest is back for 2025 on Sunday, May 4th! After a couple of rainy years, we’ve put in an early request for sunshine, and this year is set to be a scorcher! But if the May bank holiday brings a downpour, don’t worry—we’ve got an all-singing (literally!) plan in store. Expect live music, DJ’s, local food, and top-tier coffee. And of course, plenty of paddling action!

This year, the legendary Ducky Derby is in the schedule, alongside all your favorite paddling competitions throughout the day.

Spectator & Activity Sessions

Not just here to watch? We’ve got plenty for you to get involved with! Bookable activities on the day include Indoor Wave, Kayak Tasters, and SUP Tasters. The white water will be flowing all weekend, but there’s much more than just that—plenty of action-packed fun awaits!

Trade Stands & Demo Boats

We’ve teamed up with top white-water brands Dagger, Pyranha, Waka and Draggorossi to bring you an amazing selection of kayaks available to demo throughout the day. Plus, industry professionals will be on hand at various trade stands to offer expert advice, fitting advice/ help, and answer all your paddling questions.

Exclusive Park & Play Sessions

We’re offering discounted Park & Play sessions along with KAYAKING-ONLY time slots, including a RAFT-FREE MORNING for those wanting an uninterrupted paddle experience. (Check the event poster for exact times!)

Competitions & Races

Boater x – Ducky Derby – Freestyle 

Sign-ups for races and competitions open at 11 AM, catering to all ability levels. Whether you’re a beginner, intermediate, or advanced paddler, there’s a competition for you! Freestyle and Ducky Derby events will run across multiple water levels (6, 8, and 10 cumecs), ensuring everyone gets a shot at the action. Not sure what each competition involves? Stop by the sign-up stand by the DJ booth, and we’ll give you the lowdown. Even if you're not competing, these events make for thrilling spectating!

Join the SUP Race Fun 5K at Cardiff Bay

This fun-filled event is perfect for both first-time racers and seasoned paddlers looking to kick off their season with a warm-up race. Whether you're aiming to test your endurance or just enjoy a friendly competition, this event is for you! More info can be found HERE

Parking

The International Sports Village will be buzzing with excitement all weekend! To make things easier, we’ve opened up extra parking areas. The ‘Drop-Off Zone’ will be transformed into a boat park for the day, and free parking will be available next to CIWW, as well as additional spaces near Ice Arena Wales and behind the swimming pool.
