If you're seeking a secure and pristine water environment in Cardiff for your swimming adventures, you'll soon have the opportunity to dive into the exhilarating open water swimming sessions offered here at Cardiff International White Water, all year round, starting next week.
These supervised sessions are scheduled for every Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday, running from 9am to 10am, and are priced at just £6. Designed for swimmers aged 18 and above, these sessions will be conducted in a designated area of our retained water pool in Cardiff Bay, which is exclusively used for recreational water-based activities. In addition to white water rafting, they offer activities such as stand-up paddleboarding, kayaking, and canoeing.
Cllr Jennifer Burke, the Cabinet Member for Culture, Parks, and Events, expressed her enthusiasm, stating, “These sessions will be a great addition to the offer at Cardiff International White Water and will help encourage more people to enjoy the health benefits of open water swimming in a well-supervised, clean and safe environment.”
The water quality at Cardiff International White Water is rigorously monitored and subjected to weekly tests to ensure it meets the safety standards for bathing. During the colder winter months, specifically from October to March, participants will be advised to wear appropriate wetsuits but not compulsory.
