If you are looking for a way to make 2020 February half term (Monday 17 February – Friday 21 February 2020) unforgettable, you are in luck! There’s never a dull moment in Cardiff, since the city has so much entertainment for kids of all ages.
If your boisterous brood are the energetic type, Cardiff International White Water (CIWW) offers the perfect way to keep them entertained. With our range of adrenaline-boosting activities and convenient location (a stone’s throw away from the city centre), the facility is a popular destination for over 5s of all abilities during the school holidays.
Family Rafting is the perfect way to dip your toes into the thrills and spills of the white-water course. The level and speed of the water are lowered, enabling children as young as 6 to take part. With up to 7 people in a raft, riding the rapids is guaranteed to inject some fun into your family time.
Adventure-loving families who don’t want to be limited to white water rafting can sign up for our Family Paddle Taster Sessions. With a choice of Canoeing, Kayaking or Stand Up Paddle Boarding, families can learn the basics of paddle sports together in the safety of our flat-water pool. If you’re up for some family fun, you can book a session in the morning or the afternoon, depending on your schedule!
Ideal for complete beginners, as well as board sport enthusiasts, Bodyboarding is available all year round at CIWW, even when the weather outside is off-putting. The Indoor Wave machine features a double lane design, so that family and friends can put their newfound skills to the test together. There’s also plenty of seating for those who want to gather round and watch the action.
If you’re not a fan of water, you can get your kicks from the Air Trail high rope, steel and timber course, which towers above the white water. Both children and adults love tackling the challenge of the Burma Bridge, Monkey Swing, Barrel Crawl and Zip Wire obstacles.
Another favourite amongst youths not keen on getting wet is our Climbing Wall. Suitable for all beginners and experienced little climbers towering over 107cm, our wall is designed to bring out the monkey in everyone. Equal parts challenging and rewarding, the climbing wall is the ideal choice if your offspring loves heights and has plenty of energy to burn off.
Not sure which activity your kids will enjoy the most? We have an easy solution – you can give them a taste of all with our Youth Multi Activity Week. Packing a bundle of adventure-filled courses, including white water rafting, canoeing and kayaking, hotdogging and SUP, as well as a go at our Air Trail, our multi activity week is a prime opportunity to let your children roam the water and find the sport they like most. After all, you do have a whole week of half term!
Free on-site parking available. Age and height restrictions may apply.
