It’s the summer holidays and every parent knows what this means – endless weeks off for your children with a limited choice of fun activities to keep them occupied. Here at CIWW we offer courses ranging from one day to a full working week, which make for great alternatives to summer school.
Here are some of our favourite ideas for keeping your kids from feeling cooped up:
Our Youth Paddle Discover and Youth Paddle Explore courses introduce your children to the essentials of paddlesports over four weeks. Passing a number of milestones and receiving awards along the way will empower your kids and keep them engaged, while the kayak sessions help young ones to develop their decision-making skills through overcoming exciting challenges.
The Discover sessions are perfect for kids with no experience, while the Explore courses are tailored for those who have dipped their toes into paddling before.
Another popular CIWW activity for the school holidays is our 5 day Youth Surf School. The perfect opportunity for your kids to experience surfing for the first time or improve their surfing skills, the course is split between Indoor Wave at CIWW using our simulated surf machine (Monday to Thursday) and a surfing lesson in the sea at Porthcawl beach (Friday).
No experience is required, but your children need to be at least 107cm tall to bodyboard.
For children who love water but aren’t quite on the crest of a wave, we have our Youth Paddle School. Over five days, your kids will have the opportunity to try out a range of Canoe and Kayak courses on flatwater, and even progress to white water if they’re feeling adventurous.
Think your kids will enjoy a taster of all the activities that CIWW has to offer? We’ve got good news for you – with our Multi Activity Week you don’t have to choose! Cramming in a bundle of courses, including White Water Rafting, Canoeing, Kayaking and Stand Up Paddleboarding, our Youth Multi Activity Week is the perfect opportunity to introduce your children to all sorts of watersports.
Parents who are looking to combine their offspring’s summer adventures with some interactive learning can get the best of both worlds with SUPKids. Taking environmental education out of the classroom and into nature, the programme introduces children to Stand Up Paddleboarding, water safety and the idea of looking after the planet.
All kids who attend will receive an amazing SUPKids workbook and some stickers. No previous Stand Up Paddleboarding experience is needed.
If the kids have already completed one of the CIWW Stand Up Paddleboarding courses and are keen to improve their skills, our 2 hour Stand Up Paddleboarding Progression sessions are the perfect choice for this summer! During the session they will learn more about Stand Up Paddleboarding equipment, techniques, paddling in chop and wind, as well as training to race or adventure.
This is a fantastic option for improving the paddling skills and confidence of any over 12 year olds who have completed our Stand Up Paddleboarding taster session.
If you’ve been in charge of looking after the kids, chances are you haven’t had time to go to the gym or unwind. Why not take a minute (or an hour and a half) and treat yourself to one of our unique Stand Up Paddleboarding Yoga Sessions? Moving through classical yoga postures on your board, you will strengthen your body and relax your mind, ensuring that you’re fully recharged when you pick up the children.
