Cardiff International White Water (CIWW) has scooped two major industry awards, cementing our place as one of Wales’ best tourism attractions.
The prestigious National Tourism Awards recognises the value of the tourism industry to Wales and the City of Cardiff Council’s CIWW was nominated in both the ‘Best Day Out’ and ‘Best Business Tourism’ categories picking up silver and bronze prizes.
Cabinet Member for Community Development, Co-operatives and Social Enterprise, Councillor Peter Bradbury, said: “Cardiff International White Water has been a big draw for leisure and business visitors to the city looking for adventure. A whole raft of new activities has been added to the facility over the years, including Indoor Surfing and a brand new Air Trail making it a truly unique facility in Wales. To win two National Tourism Awards is fantastic recognition for the facility and also the staff who work so hard to make sure everyone who visits has a memorable day out.”
Since opening in 2010 we have hosted the 2012 and 2013 ICF Canoe Slalom World Cup and have provided challenging training courses for UK-wide rescue services.
