CIWW, a different perspective.
2013 / 2014 have seen unprecedented flooding in the UK with high river flows and tidal surges. As a result, emergency services have been extremely active in areas of water rescue and management.
We often blog about our dual role, not just recreational water use but also flood rescue training, it really hits home when emergency service staff who return to train at Cardiff International White Water convey their hard work and endeavour of others.
As the awareness of flooding continues to increase, so does the reliance on training staff in flooding scenarios.
During one training phase with South West HART we were visited by three film crews each providing excellent reports on the hard work of rescue teams and Cardiff International White Water staff.
