Participants on this activity must be 6 years old or over.
On certain days of the week, the pumps that generate our white water are taken down a notch so that the rapids are more relaxed than they would normally be on our standard White Water Rafting activity. This means that children as young as 6 years old are able to enjoy our ever-popular Family White Water Rafting experience!
Our Family White Water Rafting activity is suitable for families, parties and groups of friends alike! We can hold a maximum of 6 people*.
*ALTHOUGH WE WILL MAKE EVERY EFFORT TO PUT YOUR GROUP ON THE SAME RAFT (UP TO 6 PEOPLE PER RAFT), ON OCCASION WE MAY NEED TO SPLIT YOUR GROUP BETWEEN RAFTS AND YOU MAY BE SHARING WITH OTHER CIWW CUSTOMERS.
Availability on our calendar is live, so if a particular date/time is not showing as bookable, this is because the session is already full or we do not operate this activity on the day you are looking for.
By proceeding to book and pay for this session, you are in agreement with our 'CIWW-Coached Terms and Conditions' which are available to view here

There’s a reason why our family white water rafting sessions have proved so popular with visitors. As well as providing an exciting alternative to tried and tested family activities such as board games and camping, white water rafting family courses offer a number of perks, including:
A big part of what makes family rafting a popular choice when it comes to family adventure days is the opportunity for bonding it offers. With four people per raft, you can pack a whole lot of relatives on the family white water rafting course and use the experience to make your relationships stronger by working together as a team.
Group activities for larger parties tend to be pricy, so fitting all your favourite people into affordable family activities could be quite a challenge. Our family rafting sessions are priced at just £35 per person, and are suitable for all family members.
As we mentioned, our facilities are open all throughout the year, which makes our family rafting sessions an extremely popular choice for family adventure days during the school holidays. Offering a great opportunity to go white water rafting with kids and spend some quality time together, our family rafting slots are spread out across a few days each week, so you can find a time that suits your schedule.
From February half term and Easter break to the long summer holidays and even October half term, family white water rafting is the perfect way to keep your children entertained and make the school holidays unforgettable. Whether you want to celebrate the warming weather or get your outdoor family adventure days before autumn chill sets in, family rafting is the perfect way to keep your energetic brood entertained.
Based in a convenient Cardiff Bay location (a stone’s throw away from the city centre), CIWW is a popular destination for white water rafting with kids over six. It’s the perfect setting for family days out in South Wales and attracts visitors from all over the country looking to infuse some fun into their family activities.
If you’ve ever navigated the rapids, you’ll know that no two sessions are the same. This is also true for family white water rafting trips. We often see familiar faces returning to CIWW for their family adventure days because they can’t get enough of the thrill and enjoyment of taking to the waves with their loved ones.
