CIWW is always looking to take on experienced, enthusiastic and passionate outdoor instructors.
We provide a wide range of activities from flat water-based sessions, Whitewater rafting and paddle sports coaching, high ropes, gorge walking and Indoor Wave sessions. A variety of clients take part in our activities from Stag, hen and corporate groups, children’s parties, people requiring performance coaching and courses for outdoor professionals i.e. Rescue 3, British Canoeing, REC first aid and IRF courses.
Desirable qualifications: Paddle Sports Instructor, White water kayak coach, SUP Instructor, ERCA Adventure Park Instructor or Rescuer, IRF and BC raft guide and SPA.
Qualities we look for in our team members: Be able to work in a team, be approachable with good communication skills, have initiative, good time keeping and be reliable. In addition, we are also looking for people who have a passion for the outdoors.
Experience: Gorge Walking, Indoor Wave coaching, high ropes, coaching, rafting. Although experience in these areas is preferred we do offer in-house training for a variety of our activities.
Work Hours: Most of our staff are employed on a freelance basis, the rate of pay is dictated by qualifications held for example, Raft guide £14.00/h*, water watcher (Whitewater course rescuer) £12.00/h*. Work hours are handed out fairly between all freelance staff by admin, with our busiest periods being weekends and school holidays.
To begin working for us you must have a UTR number (self-employed), Cardiff council vendor, an Enhanced DBS, up-to-date First Aid and have attended a staff induction at the centre.
